MInd Above Matter

Programs & Services

We offer a range of services to respond to the community needs and to empower clients to change patterns of thoughts and behaviors in order to achieve their maximum mental and emotional well-being. We offer initial assessments to help recommend the appropriate level of care or support, medication management, individual/family therapy. We also offer higher levels of care, such as partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) services for ages 12 and up.  Our personalized care approach includes developing a treatment plan, working on the plan with your “treatment team”, and a discharge and aftercare plan when you are ready to complete services.

Outpatient Services:

We offer Outpatient services for individuals that need a little additional support, either through therapy or through medication management. We have multiple licensed therapists at both locations and we also have psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners who are qualified to prescribe and manage medications.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP):

This program is designed to provide comfort, safety, and structure for clients, while allowing them to go home at night. This provides extra mental health support when it is needed most with the least restrictive environment. Programming involves group therapy 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, individual therapy, med management, and family/couples sessions.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP):

This is a step-down level of care for clients transitioning back to work or school or who need extra support beyond just an outpatient appointment. It includes at least 3 hours per day/3 days per week for adults and 4 hours per day/5 days per week for children, providing support and structure while clients practice and enhance their coping skills. Medication management, individual therapy and family/couples therapy are also incorporated as needed.

Some clients are admitted directly to IOP, when their symptoms are not severe enough to warrant PHP, but severe enough that the client is having difficulty functioning without more structured support and intervention. A therapist will discuss these options during the initial assessment.

Medication Management:

Clients are provided an evaluation and monitoring by a psychiatrist for medications, adverse reactions, and side effects to reduce their current mental health symptoms. When in PHP, they see the psychiatrist a minimum of twice/week and in IOP, once/week.

We also offer medication management on an outpatient basis as a maintenance appointment for clients who are doing well and just need medication support only, or in conjunction with outpatient therapy appointments.

School:

We ask that our clients remain in their home school on homebound curriculum while they are receiving care in our program. We provide an online accredited school component for our children and/or contact home schools weekly with attendance and reporting of grades.

NOTE: Our latest community collaboration includes a partnership between Mind Above Matter and Keller Independent School District.  We are now able to offer IOP/PHP programming after school hours on the Keller ISD New Direction school campus.  This collaboration is the first in the state of Texas of it’s kind!  This program is open to all KISD middle and high school students that qualify and are referred by the school for services.  It allows the school and behavioral health providers to have a greater collaboration for the benefit of the student and allows the student to receive more intensive mental health support, without having to be withdrawn from school (as required by other PHP/IOP programs).  We are so excited to a part of such an innovative, new program!
