Hirsch Chinn
As a real estate professional for over 17 years, Hirsch had been involved in building large custom homes and redeveloping beautiful living spaces for the homeless. Throughout Hirsch’s real estate career, he found deep satisfaction in improving the lives of others and watching families grow in their new spaces.
In 2013, Hirsch turned his attention to improving the lives of those suffering from addiction. His mission was to learn what causes individuals to turn to substance abuse and help them overcome and treat their addiction. Hirsch founded Footprints to Recovery in Hamilton, NJ in 2014, and has since opened two additional addiction treatment centers, with more in the planning. With the goal of providing the best treatment available, he has focused on enlisting the expertise of industry leaders to impact change and fulfill this dream. When asked what he thought was the biggest lesson he learned from his experiences, Hirsch replied, "I have seen how much we can accomplish and the lives we can save when we work together!”
Whitney Dixon, M.Ed., LCDC
As early as high school, Whitney knew her path would be forged in the helping profession. She pursued a bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX, where she was also a key player on the basketball team. Whitney earned her Master's in Counseling Psychology from TCU and has worked in sport psychology consulting, business development, admissions, and organizational development at education and treatment centers before joining Mind Above Matter in November 2021. Her true passion lies in the "helping people help people" as they uncover and enhance their innate strengths and talents. She considers it an honor and privilege to work at a center that is actively challenging communities to prioritize mental health and believes investing in people and their growth is invaluable to society's success. In her free time, you can find Whitney at the gym, taking nature hikes, restoring mid-century furniture, cheering on the Horned Frogs, or exploring the world with her wife, Lindsey. The couple has three fur babies and a handful of nieces and nephews whom they love to spoil at any opportunity.
Kelsey Craig, LCDC-I
Kelsey joined the Mind Above Matter team in November 2021 with a wealth of experience in intake, discharge planning, alumni programming, and program management. Kelsey holds an Associate's in Mental Health and Human Services, as well as an LCDC-I, specializing in women-specific issues that present throughout the recovery process. She is strongly aligned with the MAM mission of meeting people where they are, with compassion and care, especially in crisis. Kesley has a true passion for listening and supporting those exhausted by their journey of finding adequate mental health support. Her process-oriented focus expertly ensures that MAM systems make mental health services easily accessible to our community. Outside of MAM time, Kelsey is happily married to her husband, Sheldon, and enjoys their two little nuggets named Charlie (20 months) and Riley (4 years). She thrives on winning board game matches, loves a great Brene Brown book, and can snack prep for each week like nobody's business.
Rikia Ancar, MA, LMFT
Rikia is a New Orleans native who relocated to the DFW metroplex in 2020. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a wide range of experience, and happily describes outpatient services as her "jam". Rikia earned her Masters of Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, and passionately believes in comprehensive and quality care for clients and families. Outside of MAM time, you can find Rikia traveling, running, reading, and trying new restaurants. She is also a dog mom to a rambunctious mini-labradoodle named Cayenne, who is frequently in the background of calls, if he's not at Camp Bow Wow.
